On February 18, 2002 The Outside World opened their first store along GA 400, just south of the North Georgia Mountains. Offering not only the best in equipment for those wishing to explore "the outside world", T.O.W. has gone the extra step by providing something beyond great gear: the best instruction, advice and expertise so customers get the most out of their equipment. Building upon the success of this formula, The Outside World opened their new facility on November 21, 2003. Along with the expanded inventory our new space allows we've included a 30,000 gallon, indoor pool to provide onsite, year-round, in-the-water instruction and provide a convenient place for testing boats before you buy. To top it off, we included the world's only indoor wave generator exclusively for boaters. With two 50 horsepower pumps, the wave generator moves 10,000 gallons of water per minute through an adjustable "sluice" to provide a variety of conditions to learn on, experiment with, or just have fun. Whether you hike, paddle, camp, or just love to adventure in "the outside world" we have not only the gear and equipment you need, but also the experience, expertise and knowledge you deserve. The Outside World has a new and exciting second location in Cumming. Located at The Avenue Forsyth you can now see a movie, grab a bit to eat, and buy a kayak all in the same mall.

Our new store has all of us excited and we hope that many of our customers will find the new location more convenient. You will find many of the same products but because the store is much smaller we will be limited on some of the gear. We will have our full selection of clothing and footwear but will only be able to stock small numbers of items like backpacks, kayaks and sleeping bags. Next time you are in the south Forsyth area please stop in at the new Outside World in Cumming.
